Reflexology

What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a complementary therapy which is a totally holistic non-invasive natural therapy, which aims to treat imbalances within the body and enhance its natural ability to heal itself.
How can Reflexology help me?
This is a calming and gentle therapy that encourages the body to restore its own healthy balance. The stimulation of nerve cells, or reflex points on the feet during a reflexology treatment transmits energy throughout the body and its various organs.
Reflexology has been shown to be effective for:
- Back pain
- Migraine
- Arthritis
- Sleep disorder
- Sports injuries
- Hormonal imbalances
- Digestive disorders
- Stress – related conditions
What does the Reflexology treatment involve?
When you arrive at my home practice you will be warmly welcomed. The first thing I do is to talk to you to determine your present and past health issues and your lifestyle.
A consultation will be taken. Once the preliminaries are done then you will recline in a therapy chair get nice and comfortable and start to relax. Relaxing music can be played if you wish.
You will only need to take off your shoes and socks, your feet will be wiped over with a cleansing tissue before I start with a relaxing technique on your feet by using my hands, during the treatment I will apply pressure to your feet which will help maintain a state of balance for optimum energy flow and health this is achieved by applying pressure to the points on the feet that correspond to every organ in the body.
A reflexology treatment session usually lasts for about one hour ,however the first treatment takes apprx an hour and a half due to the consultation.
Many people find it beneficial to continue with regular treatments in order to maintain health and well being.
How will I feel after the treatment?
After experiencing your reflexology treatment you should feel relaxed and refreshed and calm. However due to the toxins in your system that will be released you may experience the following symptoms please do not be alarmed. The symptoms may be any of the following:
- Migraines
- Head aches
- Frequent visits to the bathroom
- Aching muscles
- Sleepy
- Emotional
If you were to experience any of the above it is proof that the treatment is working so it’s a good sign.
I will give you an after care sheet when you leave explaining what you need to do after the treatment.
